Stories of Transformation

Portrait of Mary Akech

Mary Akech

Juba CountyAdolescent Sexual Reproductive Health

At 17, Mary became a peer educator in her community after participating in our ASRH program. She has since educated over 200 young people about reproductive health and helped reduce teenage pregnancies in her area by 35%.

"This program gave me the knowledge and confidence to help other young people make informed decisions about their health. I'm proud to be making a difference in my community."

What Communities Are Saying

"The health education programs have completely changed how our community approaches healthcare. We now focus on prevention rather than just treatment."

- Chief Peter Deng, Aweil Community Leader

"Our young people are now confident and knowledgeable about their health. The peer education program has been transformational."

- Sarah Akol, School Principal, Juba

"Mental health is no longer a taboo topic in our community. People feel safe to seek help and support each other."

- Dr. Rebecca Mayen, Local Health Officer
